This week we did not start deep pressure commands with Riggs, instead we continued to reinforce his current commands. He is struggling a little with his duration “Six.” He will try to exit the command before released. It has to do with his lack of comfortability not making eye contact with his handler. We continue to work on his duration in this area.

Riggs has improved on his heel to when he is too far forward if you say “Nope” and then stop, he will back straight up into a heel. If he starts to creep forward and you say “nope” he will stop or slow down until he is back in his heel position.

One area Riggs has started to struggle in is in his recall. He has started to run past or sit too far away. I am reinforcing this with some high value treats to get him back where he needs to be.

He is also still hit or miss on his treat motivation. Some days are better than others. Overall, he is not the most motivated dog and you have to work with him where he is. He still performs his commands but they are often at his pace as he is a very easygoing dog.
