This week was awesome, her evaluation was great. I stayed away and watched from the window. Wanted her to know she was out there with her secondary and that I was not present. She will sometimes just look around for me and it is disruptive to her time with secondary handler. What observed made me very proud of her. Only moments of being distracted but for the most part very attentive to him and the commands given. I also have had her working with new handlers seeing how well she is with strangers who understand how to handle a trained dog. She is attentive and confident. I have begun to be clearly present when she is working with others to create the temptation and encourage them to work to redirect her attention. She is doing well. Her visit to the other units went well and she was more of the good well mannered dog that I know. After wards we rode the elevator back to the unit and I am very impressed with the improvement in her confidence when Entering, riding and exiting the elevator. The games we have been playing with toys and building more toy drive have been mildly successful, she does not like to carry item in this way. You can capitalize on a moment and get her to retrieve items and give them back but it is very short lived. This will be a focus point of each day going forward, doing various games with different rewards to see if this can be built up to a working skill and trainable task within her.
