Jimmy had a great week learning a couple of new things. One was us dropping the non-verbal command for "heel" when positioned directly in front of us after a recall. Jimmy now knows the word "heel" and will position himself on the handler's left side. We also introduced "six", which is a form of crowd control to give the handler more confidence in public around people. Jimmy will come from the front, go under the handler between the legs and have half of his body facing the rear, looking at the crowd from behind the handler. Jimmy caught onto this the first day and is doing very well with it. He can hear the command "six", come from across the room and get into the six position. To release him, I have been saying "heel" and he goes straight into a heel position. I have not used any treats for reinforcement, just praise and pets. Jimmy likes to be told he is a good boy and enjoys pets for praise.
The elevator rides are fine with no issues. He also knows "up" and "off" and executes the command every time. Duration stays have never been an issue.
