Training Tails: Enlo - Week 2 Update

Week 2:

Enlo has made progress with the "Down" command, but still crawls forward when commanded. Starting using the platform as a training tool to help with this issue. It took him some time to get used to it, but he finally started to accept it. Enlo is able to get on the elevator, but we can tell he gets quite nervous while it is moving. We are making it a positive experience each time with lots of treats and praise (it seems to be working). We were able to introduce CGC #1 and #2. CGC #1 is "Accepting a friendly stranger", where someone approaches the handler and Enlo stays in a sit. CGC #2 is 'Sitting Politely for Petting", this is where Enlo accepts being pet by the stranger. Enlo did have an episode the other night where something must have spooked him while he was in his crate. For a day or two after, we had to work on his crate training and make it a pleasant, stress-free, and safe place for him again. Enlo is doing better and better every day at heeling and walking on a loose lead. He is doing great at descending and ascending the stairs while keeping the pace of his handler.
