On Monday we generalized the "place" command with different rugs, mats, and in different areas. Emery seemed to understand the concept after only a few tries.
She started leaking urine and licking herself while it was happening. She had gone to potty break about an hour before this and had no water in between. This happened twice after two different potty breaks on Monday. On Tuesday, Emery went to the rec yard to play with all of the other dogs. She had limited water and urinated before she came inside. At 2:50, less than an hour after she came back in, we took her for a potty break and she did her business. We also took her out for another potty break at 3:50 and she urinated then, too. At 3:59 when we were back inside, she started leaking urine on the floor and seemed to be unaware of it. At 5:00, she leaked a small puddle again inside.
She is able to stay in a down position while under a table and the handler can walk away for a few minutes. She is comfortable meeting new people as long as they aren't creeping slowly towards her and prefers it if she is able to come to them. She does not like being reached for. Will accept pets from a down position and does well with inspections. She looks to the handler for reassurance and comfort.
