This week had a short week of training. Dallas woke up Friday morning with what appeared to be pink eye. We washed out her eye and gave her two days of rest and she recuperated well. On a positive side, she has been more engaged after her time off. We normally do not work or train on Sunday, but we did take advantage and started working on building her distance and duration on various commands. We are using a training platform to help Dallas build on her duration and distance.
Additionally, Dallas has demonstrated a good temperament for deep pressure therapy (DPT). Since she is being training for anxiety we are working on teaching her PLACE with the goal to get her to the DPT. She is doing really well with BLOCK and COVER. We will soon be introducing the pickup command and the retrieval.
Some negative behaviors we are noticing is whining and barking when she is separated from her trainer. We are going to start generalizing her with other trainers to help her with separation anxiety.
