Charlie continues to show advanced growth in generalizing verbal commands to new handlers, different tones, and varied environments. His response consistency with verbal-only commands has significantly improved, including in the face of more complex distractions like dropped food, moving people, and loud noises.

Socially, Charlie remains composed and gentle. This week, he excelled in the Visiting Room and Classrooms—greeting new people politely, staying relaxed during group activity, and maintaining focus on his handler during more dynamic interactions.

He’s also improving with cue flexibility—responding not only to familiar voices but also to varied phrasing and tone. His command fluency and emotional maturity are showing through in each environment.

Challenges Encountered:

  • A sudden burst of loud clatter in the Chow Hall initially startled him mid-Stay. A brief recovery and return to position showed impressive resilience.

  • During a multi-step verbal sequence, Charlie showed slight hesitation moving from Down to Stand without hand support. This is being addressed with consistent verbal cue pairing and timing.

Personality Notes:

Charlie’s calm confidence and thoughtful demeanor continue to shine. He thrives on clarity, consistency, and connection with his handler. He remains affectionate, socially respectful, and curious—qualities that support both his training success and his future in public settings.
